Government Provides Planning Calculator
By Tom Dunn | September 30, 2008
You’ll find a brand new retirement savings calculator, provided by the US government, free and available on the internet. It’s purpose is to assist users in making plans for retirement, and help them figure out exactly how much they will need to put aside. It will also allow them to make the best decisions possible when it comes to retirement planning.
the calculator comes with a simple, easy to follow guide called “Taking The Mystery Out Of Retirement Planning” which was created by the Dept. of Labor. The guide lays out a series of possible scenarios, and some simple worksheets to assist you with your retirement calculations.
It used to be you could only get this guide by telephone, and the governement would mail it to you. Now you can get it online for free. It’s downloadable in PDF format at http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/publications/nearretirement.html
